To all PCMA Student Chapter Members:
An organization in the Washington, DC area of the various Convention and Visitor Bureaus that are based here, called CVBreps, – www.cvbreps.com – will be hosting its very popular Holiday event on Wednesday, December 18 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, and is offering an opportunity for any students to volunteer for the event. This lunch reception is from 11AM – 2 PM and we usually average over 300 meeting professionals in attendance, along with 125 CVB representatives. So I believe it would be a good opportunity to network while you are a volunteer that day. And it should be after your final exams have finished!
Details are still being worked out, but here is a quick idea of what you may get to do that day…
Arrive at 9 AM and plan to stay until 3 PM
Duties could include:
Greeting the guests at the hotel Front Door
Directing the guests to the ballroom downstairs
Greeting guests on the free shuttles at the L’Enfant and Metro Center Metro Stations
Assisting at the Registration Desk
Collecting the Game Cards which we use to insure the clients visit each region of the country during the reception
Dress would be business attire with comfortable shoes, as you will be on your feet most of the day.
Parking is available at the hotel, at a charge, or the L’Enfant Metro stop is five blocks away.
