Community Service Project at The Farm at Walker Jones on September 18

You are Invited!

Come join your fellow PCMA Capital Chapter members September 18 from 4-6 pm to help the local community close the gap in our local food system, and to end childhood obesity in the District.

The Community Service Committee has organized an afternoon of getting dirty at The Farm at Walker Jones to help bring local, seasonal fruits and vegetables to residents in order to close the gap in our local food system and decrease the high childhood obesity rate in DC. PCMA Capital Chapter has partnered with DC Greens to bring you an afternoon of gardening with lots of soil turning, weeding and crop planting to prepare for the change over to fall crops. This will be followed with an “on the farm happy hoeing hour” reception from 6-7 pm! The event will be at The Farm at Walker Jones, an urban farm located in the heart of DC.

Tools will be provided and free parking is available at the lot adjacent to the Farm on K Street, NW between New Jersey and First Street NW.
