Join the PCMA Capital Chapter for an afternoon of gardening as we partner with DC Greens at this urban farm in the heart of DC that serves the kids, families, and neighbors of the Walker Jones Education Campus, a DC Public School. While the farm serves the greater community in which it resides, it serves as an outdoor classroom, allowing educators to extend student thinking before, during, and after their hands-on work on the farm, while reminding children that the foods we eat are as important as the books we read. We will be prepping and planting for the summer crops, so come in your best “farming” attire for lots of soil turning, weed churning, crop planting and more, followed by our own on the farm “happy hoeing hour” reception!
